Allianz is one of the six insurers licensed to sell green slips in NSW. This fact sheet sets out what SIRA and Allianz's own NSW CTP page say about quotes, renewals, policy terms, cancelling and claims. We read Allianz's page on 30 October 2026 and left out anything we couldn't check there or on SIRA's site.
GreenSlipInsurance.com.au is a general information site operated by Dominet BV. This page is general information only and is not financial, legal or insurance advice. It does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. We are not an insurer or broker, we don't sell green slips and we don't recommend any insurer. SIRA (the State Insurance Regulatory Authority) is the official source of green slip information in NSW, so check its website or your insurer before you act. Facts were checked on 30 October 2026. Read our general information notice. This fact sheet only uses facts from SIRA and Allianz's own website. It isn't a review, and it doesn't compare Allianz with other insurers.

Allianz's site says Allianz Australia Insurance Limited is the insurer of any general insurance products offered on it, which includes its NSW green slip.
What an Allianz green slip covers
SIRA says all green slips have the same level of CTP cover, but they may not cost the same. So the cover you get from Allianz is the cover set by the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017, the same as from any other licensed insurer. It covers injury and death caused by your vehicle. It doesn't cover damage to cars or property. Anyone hurt in a crash, including an at-fault driver, can apply for statutory benefits, with limits for people mostly at fault. Our green slip NSW guide and CTP benefits guide explain the cover in full.
Allianz's page (read 30 October 2026) adds two points. Registered trailers in safe, roadworthy condition are generally covered under the towing vehicle's CTP for injuries, so they don't need their own green slip, but CTP doesn't cover damage to the trailer. And cover applies 24 hours a day anywhere in Australia while the vehicle is registered in NSW, with the extent depending on the law where the accident happened.
Getting an Allianz green slip quote
Allianz's NSW CTP page has an online quote. It says the main driver of the vehicle must complete part of the application.
The page lists factors that may affect the price: the driving and claims history of you and other drivers, demerit points, the driver's age, the vehicle's age and type (it notes that utes and light commercial vehicles typically cost more than ordinary cars), how far the vehicle is driven each year, and other insurance on the car. The Fund Levy and GST are included in the price. Allianz also says your CTP policy shows the Input Tax Credit (ITC) status used to calculate the premium, and you can update it.
Every licensed insurer, Allianz included, has to follow SIRA's Motor Accident Guidelines (version 10.1, from 12 December 2025). Insurers must not refuse to quote for a vehicle that needs CTP, must let you get a quote without identifying yourself or giving a rego number, and must list on the quote the pricing factors they used. If a factor on your quote is wrong, raise it before you pay.
Renewing an Allianz green slip
Allianz says you can renew online or by phone, and you'll need your Allianz renewal notice. Once a green slip is issued, Allianz says it automatically sends proof of insurance to Transport for NSW. You still renew the registration yourself, and the green slip has to be in place first.
If a young driver starts using the car, Allianz says to contact it once they get a provisional licence so it can add their date of birth as the youngest driver, which may change the premium. It says learner drivers are covered automatically.
6 or 12 month terms
Allianz's page says a 6 month term is available for light vehicles under 4.5 tonnes, as long as both the CTP and the registration are paid within 21 days of the due date. It says owners of heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes GVM may have a 3 month option, and taxi drivers can pay the premium in instalments. Our renewal guide covers the 21 day rule.
Cancelling and refunds
Allianz's page (read 30 October 2026) describes the process:
- Cancel the vehicle's registration with Transport for NSW first. The green slip covers the vehicle for as long as it's registered.
- Transport for NSW gives you a letter confirming the registration is cancelled.
- Give that letter to your CTP insurer, which can then cancel the policy and refund any unused portion of the premium.
Allianz says any refund is calculated from the date Transport for NSW confirms the deregistration. It also says you can only change CTP insurer at the start of each registration period, and once a green slip has been used to register the vehicle, the only way to change insurers is to cancel and re-establish the registration. Our green slip refund guide has the wider rules.
Selling or buying a vehicle
Allianz says a NSW green slip is attached to the car's registration, so when you sell the car it transfers to the new registered owner. There's no refund just because you sold. Our buying and selling guide covers the rest.
Making a CTP claim
A CTP claim goes to the insurer of the vehicle at fault, which may not be Allianz. Allianz's page says it has a NSW-based CTP claims team you can phone. Our CTP claims guide covers the steps and time limits.
Checking the price against other insurers
Allianz is one of six licensed insurers, and prices differ between them for the same cover. SIRA's free Green Slip Price Check shows quotes from all six for your vehicle, and SIRA says to confirm the price with the insurer before you buy. Our compare green slips page lists all six insurers in alphabetical order and explains how the Price Check works. SIRA also publishes a quarterly claims experience and customer feedback comparison of the insurers. The latest one we found covers June 2026.
What we left out
- Phone numbers. We don't publish phone numbers or email addresses on this site. Allianz's own NSW CTP page has its current contact details.
- Comparative performance claims. Allianz's page quotes SIRA data on treatment times and says it compares well with other insurers. We left this out because we don't compare insurers. SIRA's own quarterly comparison is linked above if you want the full figures.
- Prices. We don't quote any. Use the Price Check or Allianz's own quote.
- Awards and customer numbers. Marketing statements we can't check against SIRA.
